4 Common Chrysler Sebring Problems

A list of some of the most common issues Sebring owners have to deal with.

  1. UConnect Frozen with Blank Screen

Uconnect infotainment systems will often boot into a blank screen, freeze while the vehicle is in REVERSE, become unresponsive to the touch, or reboot at random times. The system has grown over the years, both in size and features, but the …

  2. AHR Randomly Deploys

The active head restraints in some Chrysler vehicles are handing out free concussions. A mechanical breakdown inside the restraint means they could deploy randomly at any time.

  3. TIPM Electrical Problems

If you've heard of a TIPM, chances are you own a vehicle from Fiat-Chrysler (FCA). Think of it like a command center for all the electrical functions of your car, and in FCA's case a very, very disfunctional one.

  4. Oil Sludge in Chrysler's 2.7L Engine

The 2.7L DaimlerChrysler engine is highly suceptible to oil sludge, a sticky hell stew that coats the inside of your engine. The sludge retains heat and starts putting severe strain on the mechanical parts of your engine. This all spells di…

  1. Chrysler is trying to wiggle out of another active head restraint lawsuit.

The automaker's lawyers point to technicalities in the case that don't hold up in the Arizona Consumer Fraud and Magnuson-Moss Warranty Acts. Another approach they could take would be to actually do something about the restraints that keep randomly smacking people at the base of their skull.…

  2. Three fatalities. Five injuries. One massive recall for Fiat-Chrysler (FCA) vehicles.

The automaker says it opened an investigation in April 2015 after 10 crashes were reported, and after months of research, engineers determined the occupant restraint control modules may short-circuit and prevent the frontal airbags-and-seat-belts, seat belt pre-tensioners and side air bags from deploying in a crash.

At the time the recall was announced, FCA didn't have a solution or a date when the it'd begin. There's a full list of the 1.9 million recalled vehicles on CarComplaints.com, and those looking for more info can call FCA at 800-853-1403. Give them recall number S61.

Your car might be part of a recall for sun visor straps. Again.

"The cars were previously repaired for a June 2015 recall issue using an incorrect part that may not prevent the passenger side sun visor from detaching if the passenger frontal airbag deploys and the passenger side sun visor is folded down in a certain position."…

What Owners Say About Their Sebring

Oil Sludge in Chrysler's 2.7L Engine is a Toxic Hell Stew

We bought this car with 25,000 miles on it. We had taken care of it, maybe not oil changes to the exact mile, but close. One day it started knocking. Sure enough it needed a new engine. Chrysler wanted all receipts and documents of oil changes. They stated there was sludge build up. We did come up with quite a few receipts, but not enough, my husband would change it in our driveway. We went round and round with Chrysler, for god sakes it only had 73,000 miles on it, how could it need a new engine?
